ADAC Welcomes The Inaugural Flight Of Air Seychelles To Abu Dhabi International Airport
(14 March 2012)
Route provides two weekly nonstop flights between Abu Dhabi and Mahé

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) welcomed last night the first Air Seychelles flight to Abu Dhabi International Airport. The inaugural flight arrived at the Capital’s airport at 8:10 pm local time, Monday 12 March, where it was saluted with traditional water cannons and greeted by representatives from ADAC.

The new Mahé-Abu Dhabi route was launched at Abu Dhabi International Airport in cooperation with Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, following its recent acquisition of 40% of Air Seychelles. The island-based carrier will operate two weekly non-stop flights between the two capitals.

Commenting on this inauguration, Ahmad Al Haddabi, Chief Operating Officer at ADAC, said:
“It is always a pleasure to welcome a new airline to ADAC’s network as it enables us to extend the services available at Abu Dhabi International Airport to new destinations, and offer further connections to all passengers from the Capital’s hub. ADAC’s team looks forward to supporting Air Seychelles in their new route, assisting them in expanding their operation further in the future.”

Cramer Ball, Air Seychelles Chief Executive Officer, said:
“We are thrilled to launch Air Seychelles’ new services to Abu Dhabi as it will allow us to introduce our guests to Abu Dhabi, both as a world-class tourism destination and a centre for global business.

“Abu Dhabi also sits at an advantageous geographic point which allows us to reach into the Gulf region and beyond via our growing codeshare partnership with Etihad Airways. We look forward to working with Abu Dhabi Airports Company and Etihad Airways on further developing our services to travelers from Abu Dhabi International Airport.”

Air Seychelles will operate flights on the Mahé-Abu Dhabi route departing from Abu Dhabi every Tuesday and Sunday, and from Mahé every Monday and Saturday using a Boeing 767 aircraft with a capacity of 214 seats.
